Discover a New ReMA Chapter Event Through the RERF Annual Silent Auction

While ReMA2026 has wrapped up, the momentum from the Convention continues through the Recycling Education and Research Foundation (RERF) Annual Silent Auction, where several items and chapter experiences are still available for bidding.

Every bid supports RERF's critical work to strengthen the future of the recycled materials industry through public awareness, education, and research that benefits ReMA members and the industry as a whole.

Among the remaining auction items are several chapter event packages, including:

  1. New England Chapter Chowder Cup Summit
  2. Mid-America Chapter Consumers Banquet
  3. Pittsburgh Chapter Golf Outing
  4. Empire Chapter Golf Outing
  5. Northern Ohio Chapter Golf Outing
  6. Ohio Valley Chapter Golf Outing

These chapter events offer more than just a memorable experience - they provide opportunities to strengthen industry relationships, exchange ideas with peers from across the country, and engage with the broader ReMA community. Several of these events are just a few weeks away, including the Northern Ohio Chapter's Golf Outing on June 3, the Pittsburgh Chapter's Golf Outing on June 17, and the Empire Chapter's Golf Outing on July 9.

Bidding on these types of events is a great way to explore a new area and meet with fellow members, said Michael Miller, Vice President of George's Salvage Co. Inc. When participating in the annual RERF silent auction he often bids on chapter events. Last year, he won the convention package and the NY/NJ chapter event in New York City, and the year before he won the Mid-Atlantic Chapter Oyster Roast package.

"I bid on these items because I believe in RERF's mission," he said. "Attending the chapter events is a great way to network, see the vendors and customers you do business with, and make new connections as well."

Attending events outside of his own chapter brings a lot of new opportunities with different vendors and customers who don't attend Miller's own chapter events. He also has the chance to talk and share updates with his industry peers.

"We can discuss the challenges and climate of our industry and compare notes because all regions face different challenges with local rules and regulations," he said. "New Jersey faces a lot of challenging legislation, so speaking with colleagues about the challenges they're facing with their respective legislators brings new ideas back to our table."

Beyond networking, Miller said chapter involvement reinforces one of the greatest strengths of ReMA - the relationships built across the industry.

"A lot of our success today is because of the relationships that we have created being active members of ReMA," Miller added.
