Monterey County Free Libraries Launches Homework CA, Free 24/7 Online Tutoring for K-12 Students

MARINA, CA - August 7, 2026 - As students head back to school, Monterey County Free Libraries (MCFL) is pleased to announce free access to Homework CA for all community members holding an MCFL library card.

The California State Library, in partnership with the Pacific Library Partnership, is offering this free online, 24/7 tutoring service for California K-12 students through local public libraries. Powered by Tutor.com, the program ensures that academic help is always available, regardless of a student's schedule.

"We know that students don't always need academic support during traditional library open hours," said Alison Day, Manager for Programs, Outreach and Youth Services at MCFL. "Homework CA allows us to extend our services beyond the library walls and give students access to free, on-demand tutoring and educational resources 24 hours a day."

Through this program, library patrons gain access to over 250 tutoring subjects. The platform also features a robust suite of test preparation materials provided by The Princeton Review, helping students excel in their coursework and prepare for critical exams.

Students can access the service immediately by visiting the MCFL website at www.emcfl.org. From the homepage, users should navigate to the Kids/Teen Tab and select "Student Support Centers."

Access is completely free with a valid library card. This specialized access to Tutor.com's Homework CA program is scheduled to run for one full year, remaining available to students until July 31, 2027.
