Miller Canfield’s Scott Eldridge Named Among Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s 2025 Leaders in the Law

October 7, 2025

Miller Canfield is proud to announce that principal and Lansing Resident Director Scott Eldridge has been named one of Michigan Lawyers Weekly's 2025 Leaders in the Law.

The annual award honors Michigan attorneys who have demonstrated excellence in the practice of law, outstanding leadership, and dedication to improving the legal profession and their communities.

Eldridge's practice focuses on labor and employment, governmental litigation, election law, and higher education law. A trusted advisor to public institutions and private employers alike, he has led clients through some of the most high-profile and sensitive matters in Michigan and across the country.

A national leader in higher education and Title IX litigation, Eldridge has represented universities including Michigan State University, San Diego State University, Fresno State University, and others in complex cases involving athletics, equity in financial aid, and retaliation claims. His election law expertise also placed him at the center of historic challenges to democracy: he served as Michigan counsel to the Biden/Harris campaign in 2020 and 2024, successfully defending against lawsuits seeking to overturn election results.

From 2020 to 2024, Eldridge served on Miller Canfield's Board of Managing Directors, where he helped guide firm strategy and talent initiatives. As Lansing Resident Director, he leads a multidisciplinary team known for its collaboration, excellence, and deep community engagement. He is recognized by Chambers USA for his employment law work and was previously named a "Go-To Employment Lawyer" by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

Beyond his practice, Eldridge is committed to mentoring the next generation of lawyers and strengthening his community. He regularly mentors law students and young attorneys through the Michigan State University College of Law Inn of Court and has served on the boards of the East Lansing Educational Foundation and Highfields, Inc., a nonprofit supporting at-risk youth and families. He is also active in the Michigan Chamber of Commerce and previously chaired its Health and Human Resources Committee.

"Scott exemplifies the values that define a true leader in the law: exceptional skill, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the legal profession and community service," said Michael Palizzi, CEO of Miller Canfield. "We're proud to see his contributions recognized by Michigan Lawyers Weekly."

Eldridge earned his J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and his B.A. from Alma College.
