Duckworth, Durbin Announce More Than $66 Million for Illinois Airport Improvements

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] - U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and U.S. Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced a total of $66,345,494 in federal funding for infrastructure improvements at various airports across the state. This funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration will help improve taxiways, accommodate more passengers and make travelling through Illinois airports safer and more efficient.

"Illinois's airports not only keep passengers moving, but they also connect our communities, support local businesses and provide good jobs for families across the state," Duckworth said. "This investment will help grow, modernize and expand our airports across the state. Together, we will keep working alongside our local leaders to advocate for federal funding that will make our skies safer, make traveling easier and support economic development across Illinois."

• St. Louis Downtown Airport (Cahokia): $68,400

• DuPage Airport (West Chicago): $250,800

• Lansing Municipal Airport (Lansing): $1,449,196

• Lewis University Airport (Romeoville): $3,267,881

• State of Illinois (Statewide): $1,896,372

• Scott AFB/MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (Mascoutah): $1,149,763

• Chicago Midway International Airport (Chicago): $5,475,808

• Quad Cities International Airport (Moline): $210,045

• Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois (Marion): $1,176,548

• Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport (Springfield): $11,839,322
