Lancaster, CA. June 26, 2026 - The City of Lancaster invites residents and visitors to celebrate summer, community, and the power of parks during the return of Cool Summer Nights, a free weekly event series taking place Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. at parks throughout Lancaster through July 29. The series kicks off ahead of July's Parks Make Life Better!® Month, a statewide campaign that highlights the benefits parks and recreation provide to California communities.
Hosted by the City of Lancaster's Parks, Arts, Recreation, and Community Services (PARCS) Department, Cool Summer Nights transforms neighborhood parks into vibrant gathering spaces where families can connect, play, and create lasting memories. Each event features a live DJ, inflatable jumpers, games, activities, free face painting, balloon twisting, a photo booth, and other family-friendly entertainment at no cost.
The event series is planned and coordinated by Lancaster's IMPACT Program, a youth development initiative that empowers local teens through leadership opportunities, event planning experience, community service, and civic engagement. Through Cool Summer Nights and other community events, IMPACT participants help create meaningful experiences that bring residents together while developing valuable professional and leadership skills.
"This series is all about bringing neighbors together and creating opportunities for families to enjoy their local parks," said Mayor R. Rex Parris. "Whether you're dancing to live music, enjoying activities with the kids, or simply spending time outdoors with friends and family, Cool Summer Nights offers something for everyone."
