NEW: Trump on Timetable for Iran War: “I Can’t Tell You. I Don’t Know.” Arrow

As Donald Trump's unpopular war of choice in Iran rages on, Trump and his administration officials have offered no firm timeline for the end of the war - even as two-thirds of Americans believe the U.S. should end the war quickly, including 40% of Republicans, and 60% overall disapprove of the war.

Trump's deadly and costly war has already claimed the lives of at least 13 U.S. service members, injured at least 365, and devastated the economy, raising prices and costing jobs back home. Now, Trump is refusing to rule out bombing civilian targets in Iran, including schools and hospitals.

It's clear Trump has no exit plan for his war in Iran. Just days into the conflict, Trump claimed they had already made "tremendous progress." Since then, Trump has repeatedly pushed back the timeline. By the third week, when asked if the war could end that week, Trump said, "Yeah, sure. We could… it'll be wrapped up soon." During his address to the nation last week, Trump indicated that the war will stretch even longer than his initial "four to five week" timeline, and continues to make new threats toward Iran every day.

At a press conference today, when asked if the war is winding down, Trump said, "I can't tell you. I don't know."

In response, DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement:

"Donald Trump has plunged the U.S. into a deadly and costly war of choice in Iran that has killed U.S. service members, continues to put troops in harm's way, and crushed the economy. Yet Trump has offered no definitive timeline for his war - or even a coherent explanation for why he started the war to begin with - as working families foot the bill indefinitely and Trump and Republicans go after food assistance, health care, and education to fund it."
