DNC Statement on Native American Heritage Month Arrow

In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, DNC Chair Ken Martin and DNC Native Caucus Chair Clara Pratte released the following statement:

"During Native American Heritage Month, we have the privilege of paying tribute to the diverse cultures, traditions, languages, and customs of Native American communities. As we celebrate, we also recognize the enduring strength of Native American people, exhibited throughout history - and their dedication to preserving culture. This month is a reminder that we must uplift their stories, uphold tribal sovereignty, and respect their right to self-determination.

"Donald Trump has pushed policies that undermine tribal sovereignty, gut essential funding from Native communities, threaten sacred lands, and even question the very citizenship of Native American people - Native American communities deserve more."
