PRESS STATEMENT 110
Spanish Government calls for immediate ceasefire and guaranteed access for humanitarian aid in Sudan
Today
Spain expresses its utmost concern about the conflict that has been ravaging Sudan since 15 April 2023 and its devastating consequences.
The situation in El Fasher, after 18 months of siege, has only exacerbated the humanitarian crisis.
We urge the RSF and the groups that support them to agree to an immediate ceasefire, guarantee access to humanitarian aid and open humanitarian corridors to alleviate the conditions of the civilian population, particularly women and children, who are the victims most affected by this conflict.
Resolving the conflict in Sudan is a priority for Spain. We defend the unity and territorial integrity of the country.
We support an inclusive dialogue between all parties, including regional actors and the African Union, to proceed with an orderly and peaceful democratic transition leading to the formation of a civilian Government.
