Rural community leaders invited to Montana State’s Reimagining Rural Roadshow Oct. 1-2 in Glasgow

BOZEMAN - The Reimagining Rural program, an initiative of Montana State University Extension, will host the second annual Reimagining Rural Roadshow Oct. 1-2 in Glasgow. Designed as a one-stop connection point, the roadshow brings state and regional resource providers together with rural community leaders in a rural setting.

Launched in 2019, Reimagining Rural is dedicated to providing Montana's small towns with opportunities to connect, share, learn and be inspired to enhance their communities.

This year's program features an on-site tour of Glasgow's revitalization projects, speakers from rural communities sharing success stories, and insights from resource leaders on topics such as housing and downtown redevelopment.

"The vision for the roadshow is simple: provide an environment where resource providers can connect with Montana's small-town leaders to build relationships, increase awareness of needs and resources, and inspire communities to dream bigger," said Jennifer Anderson, MSU Extension community vitality associate specialist and event organizer.

Anderson noted that accessibility is a key part of the event.

"Small towns run on volunteer power, and too often, events like this are hosted in larger cities, which makes it difficult for rural leaders to attend," she said. "The roadshow brings resources directly to a small town, making it both affordable and accessible."

The event will take place at the Cottonwood Inn & Suites in Glasgow, with registration on Oct. 1 at 11:30 a.m. and tour at 1 p.m. Oct. 2 speakers and roundtables are from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Registration is $30. More information, including registration details, is available on the MSU Extension Community Vitality Reimagining Rural webpage at https://www.montana.edu/extension/communitydevelopment/reimagine-rural.html.
