Full closure of EB I-670 and ramp closures in Jackson County for girder installation, Feb. 6-9

JACKSON COUNTY- The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting Girder Installation at the Holmes St. bridge over westbound and eastbound I-670 resulting in a full closure on EB I-670 between the U.S. Highway 71/I-670 interchange and the I-35/I-670 interchange. All work is weather permitting

See below for traffic modifications:

Eastbound I-670 closure:

Fri., Feb. 6 at 7:00pm until Monday, Feb. 9 at 6:00am

  • Crews will CLOSE eastbound I-670 on the Kansas Side at the I-70/I-670 split.
  • Crews will CLOSE the following ramps:
    • Northbound I-35 to eastbound I-670
    • Southbound I-35 to eastbound I-670
    • Genessee St to eastbound I-670
    • Truman Rd to eastbound I-670
    • McGee St to eastbound I-670
    • Northbound US-71 to westbound I-670
    • Southbound US-71 to westbound I-670
    • Central Ave to EB I-670

Eastbound traffic on I-70 will be directed to the north side of the downtown loop to access I-35 and US-71 and I-70

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can also be short-term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
