Planning Commission to hold public hearing on Planning Division Work Plan

Deschutes County residents are invited to share feedback on the Community Development Department's work plan for fiscal year 2026-2027.

The Deschutes County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on the Planning Division Work Plan (pages 26-35) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 9. The meeting will be held online and in person at the Deschutes Services Building, 1300 NW Wall St., Bend.

"Public input shapes the Planning Division's work plan each year. It really makes a difference to hear from residents,"said Community Development Director Peter Gutowsky.

The draft work plan outlines expected projects and goals for the coming year. Highlights include:

  • Sustaining high customer service levels.
  • Updating Deschutes County Code to meet HB 3197 requirements for clear and objective standards for multifamily housing in unincorporated areas.
  • Working with cities, county property management and other partners to support housing opportunities.
  • Initiating the Terrebonne Community Plan update.
  • Coordinating with Bend, Redmond, Sisters and La Pine on growth management projects, including comprehensive plan updates and urban growth boundary amendments.
