Westbound Interstate 80 Fully Reopens Near Nevada State Line

Nevada County - Caltrans, the California Department of Forestry (CAL FIRE) and the California Highway Patrol (CHP) continue to monitor conditions along westbound Interstate 80 (I-80) due to activity related to the Floriston Fire near the Nevada state line.
Conditions within the area have improved and allowed crews to lift the closure of the #2 lane (far right-hand lane) between Farad and Floriston Way in Nevada County, fully reopening westbound I-80 as of 7 p.m. The westbound I-80 on- and off-ramps at Farad (Exit 201) will remain closed and are scheduled to reopen at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Motorists traveling along the I-80 corridor are urged to use caution, follow posted speed limits and be mindful of fire personnel and equipment within the area.

Caltrans District 3 is responsible for maintaining and operating 4,385 lane miles in 11 Sacramento Valley and Northern Sierra counties. Caltrans reminds motorists to "Be Work Zone Alert" and slow in construction zones for the safety of travelers and crews performing these improvements.
