NCCU Alert:July 1, 2026

NCCU Community:

We have received an updated power restoration timeline from Duke Energy.

Based on this update, the university will remain in Condition 1 (Reduced Operations) through 11:59 p.m. today, July 1.

Classes will continue remotely, and non-essential staff will work remotely today.

Mandatory employees must report to work as directed by their supervisor.

Under Condition 1, the university remains open, but some non-mandatory operations may be reduced. Employees who are unable to report to work should notify their supervisor as soon as possible. Those not working during a Condition 1 declaration must use available personal leave. Adverse weather leave must be reconciled (made up) within 90 days.

CAMPUS OPERATIONS UPDATE

• Academic Affairs: Virtual classes will continue as scheduled.
  • The James E. Shepard Memorial Library will be closed. Online resources will be available through the Library's website.
• Campus Dining: Lunch and dinner service will be at the NCCU Student Center:
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m.
  • Dinner: 5 - 6:30 p.m.
• Campus Retail: All locations are closed.
• Transportation: NCCU Campus Shuttle operations will be suspended.
• NCCU Student Center: Open regular hours.
