Spinneybeck Introduces Design 5: A Space Divider That Shapes Light and Space
April 29, 2026-Spinneybeck announces the release of Design 5, the newest addition to its collection of works by the late Austrian sculptor Erwin Hauer. Renowned for his lifelong exploration of Modular Constructivism, Hauer gained international acclaim for his light-diffusing screens and room dividers that have become enduring symbols of modernist design.
Design 5 is part of Hauer's celebrated Continua series, a body of work that reflects his pursuit of infinite, continuous surfaces. Reimagined for contemporary spaces, Design 5 is a space divider that brings sculptural definition to residential, hospitality, and workplace environments. The design diffuses and reflects light as it shifts throughout the day, and with an expressive profile that is compelling from every angle, functions as both a a solution for open spaces as well as a design statement.
Crafted from milled and painted MDF, Design 5 is a versatile space divider that can be specified in any paint color to suit any interior. While available in a standard 4'-0" × 8'-0" panel size, Design 5 can also be customized for bespoke installations. Optional hardware includes two threaded rods and leveling feet, allowing for a simple installation.

About Erwin Hauer
Erwin Hauer spent his life perfecting architectural screens and sculptures that celebrate the infinite continuous surface, known as Modular Constructivism. In 1950, this Austriaborn sculptor began exploring modular sculptures, some of which lent themselves to architectural usage as room dividers and light-diffusing perforated walls. His light-diffusing walls and room dividers have been lauded as "quintessential works of modernism."
