U.S. 34 closing at rail crossing in Mendota on Sept. 2

MENDOTA - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced today that U.S. 34 will be closed for repairs at the BNSF railroad crossing in Mendota on Wednesday, Sept. 2. The repairs to the at-grade crossing and its approaches are expected to take a day to complete. A detour will be posted.

Motorists are urged to use caution and expect some delays while traveling the detour route. Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones.
