PHILADELPHIA - The Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership today announced that its "Come for Philadelphia. Stay for Philly." campaign has received a Gold Award in the Paid Advertising Campaign category from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), the leading professional association for economic developers across North America. The award places the campaign, developed in partnership with Visit Philadelphia, and originating within the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, among the best economic development marketing efforts by large metro regions in the country.
"Come for Philadelphia. Stay for Philly." is a talent attraction campaign designed to convert visitor interest into long-term residency and job growth. The campaign positions Greater Philadelphia as an affordable, opportunity-rich alternative to peer metro regions, encouraging visitors and prospective residents to see the region not just as a place to visit, but as a place to build a life and a career.
The Gold Award recognizes the campaign as the top entry in its category among regions with populations over 500,000, placing it ahead of submissions from major metro areas nationwide.
"Winning Gold against major metros nationwide is exciting validation that our approach to talent attraction is working. We're building on that momentum to position Greater Philadelphia as a place where people can build careers, businesses and lives," said Claire Marrazzo Greenwood, Executive Director, the Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership and Executive Vice President, the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia.
The campaign is a centerpiece of the Greater Philadelphia Growth Partnership's broader effort to raise Greater Philadelphia's profile with people and companies outside the region. The Partnership is a regional cross-sector, business-led effort to grow quality jobs and strengthen economic competitiveness in Southeastern Pennsylvania. It brings together business, civic, philanthropic, and public sector leaders from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties to drive stronger economic growth and expand opportunity for regional residents.
"Come for Philadelphia. Stay for Philly. has always been about inspiring people to take that next step, first by visiting Philadelphia and now by considering our region as a place to live and work," said Angela Val, president and CEO of Visit Philadelphia. "This award shows that the message can extend well beyond tourism. We're proud to work with our partners to see a successful visitation platform grow to support talent attraction and drive even greater economic impact for the region."
IEDC's Excellence in Economic Development Awards recognize the world's best economic development programs and partnerships, marketing materials and leaders. Winners are selected by a panel of economic development professionals from across North America.
