SEEBRIG Commander Received at the Headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense


The Secretary of State for Defense Policy, Planning and International Relations, Sorin-Dan Moldovan, received the Commander of the South-East Europe Multinational Brigade (SEEBRIG), Brigadier General Bilbil Bitri, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.


During the meeting, the officials addressed the importance of the "South-East Europe Defense Ministers' Meeting Process" (SEDM) initiative in strengthening regional security and stability, highlighting SEEBRIG's vital role in promoting military cooperation among member states and developing operational capabilities within the initiative.


Secretary of State Sorin-Dan Moldovan thanked the SEEBRIG Commander for the excellent cooperation during Romania's rotating presidency of SEDM from 2023 to 2025, emphasizing our country's determination to continue implementing the projects launched during its mandate.


In turn, Brigadier General Bilbil Bitri thanked Romania for its constant collaboration and highlighted the efforts made by SEEBRIG member nations to advance cooperation projects in the fields of defense and joint training.

SEEBRIG represents the contribution of the participating states to promoting cooperation across South-East Europe, maintaining regional security and fostering stability in the Euro-Atlantic space by participating in conflict prevention, peacekeeping missions under UN or OSCE mandates, and operations under NATO or EU command. The SEEBRIG participating states are: Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Romania and Turkey.
