Carter pens letter calling for Charlie Kirk to be added to National Garden of American Heroes

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Rep. Earl L. "Buddy" Carter (R-GA) sent a letter to President Donald J. Trump encouraging him to add Charlie Kirk, a true patriot and martyr for free speech, among the figures honored in the National Garden of American Heroes.

In the letter, Rep. Carter writes, "Charlie Kirk was a devoted Christian, who boldly lived out his faith with conviction, courage and compassion…The inclusion of Charlie Kirk in the National Garden would honor his life, leadership, and enduring legacy-defined by his steadfast commitment to the Constitution, civil discourse, and Biblical truth."

Carter continues, "Honoring Charlie Kirk in the National Garden would serve as a reminder that the strength of our Republic depends on citizens and leaders alike who engage thoughtfully, speak respectfully, and uphold the principles of our nation: life, liberty, limited government, and individual responsibility."

Charlie Kirk's inclusion in the Garden boasts support from the University of Georgia's (UGA) Turning Point USA Chapter:

"All of us in the TPUSA at UGA community are incredibly grateful for Representative Carter, Senator Cassidy, and the other distinguished members of Congress advocating for Charlie Kirk to be included in the Garden of American Heroes. This is a truly wonderful honor befitting Charlie Kirk's patriotic legacy," said Carson French, President of Turning Point USA at UGA.
