CDPH continues to prepare for respiratory virus season and encourages all Chicagoans to stay up to date on their vaccines this upcoming autumn. Flu, MMR, and Mpox vaccines are available for all Chicago residents at CDPH's year-round Immunization Clinics. Additional routine vaccinations are also available for uninsured and underinsured children and adults. Updated vaccines for flu are available now. CDPH anticipates receiving updated 25-26 COVID-19 vaccines in late September or early October, which will be available for any Chicago resident 6 months and older. Earlier this week, Commissioner Ige joined IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra and CCDPH Chief Operating Officer Dr. Kiran Joshi on WTTW to discuss the City and state's approach to COVID-19 vaccinations this year, and plans to ensure that anyone who wants a vaccine has access to one.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. It is a time to raise awareness on a serious mental health issue that affects many, while providing access to available resources and, most importantly, hope.
Throughout the month, CDPH is hosting a series of events dedicated to awareness, education and prevention, including free Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Suicide Prevention Trainings at public libraries and online.
