Clifford Chance appoints Jonathan Chu as Head of Intellectual Property for Asia Pacific

Global law firm Clifford Chance announces the appointment of Jonathan Chu as Partner and Head of Intellectual Property for Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong.

Jonathan is an intellectual property (IP) specialist with extensive experience advising on the IP aspects of complex corporate transactions, investments and commercial arrangements across Asia Pacific, including Greater China, as well as supporting regional clients on their international expansion.

Recognised by leading legal directories including Chambers and Legal 500, Jonathan brings deep experience across the full spectrum of IP matters, including prosecution, IP due diligence, licensing, technology transfer and commercialisation, as well as enforcement and disputes. His work frequently supports M&A, capital markets transactions and cross-border investments, helping clients manage value and risk associated with their IP assets.

Jonathan advises clients across Asia Pacific in sectors including consumer products, technology, life sciences and healthcare, media and entertainment, gaming, automotive and mobility, and clean energy. He also advises on matters at the intersection of IP and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics and digital assets, supporting clients on the commercial, regulatory and IP considerations arising from these technologies.
