Contra Costa County - For the safety of the motoring public and our crews, Caltrans Construction has scheduled overnight lane and ramp closures on eastbound SR-4 in Brentwood on Thursday, July 9, to Friday, July 10, 2026, to allow crews to continue paving operations, please prepare to merge and slow for the cone zone. Please note: All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Motorists are advised that complete closures, as well as lane and ramp closures, will continue along SR-4 Sunday through Thursday nights between 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. The westbound closures on SR-4 will reopen at 5:00 a.m. This project is tentatively scheduled to be completed by Summer 2027.
Changeable message signs (CMS) will be posted throughout the corridor to assist drivers. For 24/7 traffic updates, follow 511.org on X. For real-time traffic, visit Caltrans QuickMap.
Please follow posted signs and detour routes during these closure periods. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra travel time.
