Suspect in Colorado College burglary investigation taken into custody without incident
On September 16, 2026, the Colorado Springs Police Department's (CSPD) Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force (VOFTF) was asked to assist in apprehending 31-year-old Jesse Lupo.
On September 17, the investigation led detectives to Mr. Lupo's residence in the zero block of North Walnut Street. VOFTF detectives, assisted by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Fugitive Impact Team, CSPD's K-9 Unit, and a drone operated by an officer in the Real Time Crime Center, contained the residence and directed Mr. Lupo to exit.
Detective Yanez, the lead VOFTF detective, contacted several of Mr. Lupo's associates. One of those individuals persuaded Mr. Lupo to leave the residence peacefully. Mr. Lupo exited and was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center.
This remains an open and active investigation.
