Heat plant project nears completion as steam heat returns to buildings

As part of the Capital Renewal Program, a project to complete much-needed upgrades to the campus steam heat system is nearly finished. These upgrades required a shutdown of the heating system on campus for the summer through part of the fall semester.

The steam heat is now back on and slowly warming the buildings affected by the outage. There will be fluctuations in building temperatures for the next several weeks as the final tuning of the boilers is completed, but the project team is working closely with Facilities Operations and Maintenance minimize the impact to occupants as much as possible.

B Plaza to reopen

As the steam heat project winds down, fencing and other construction infrastructure in the B Plaza area will be removed. The project teams are grateful for the patience of the campus community in navigating the disruption in this area.
