Congressman Biggs Named “American Energy Champion” for 100% Pro-Energy Voting Record

GILBERT, ARIZONA - Congressman Andy Biggs (AZ-05) has been named an American Energy Champion by the American Energy Alliance (AEA), earning a perfect 100% score on the organization's American Energy Scorecard for the 119th Congress.

When government bureaucrats restrict domestic energy production, impose costly mandates, and pick winners and losers in the energy market, hardworking Americans ultimately pay the price. I will continue fighting to unleash our nation's vast energy resources, eliminate unnecessary federal regulations, strengthen our electric grid, and ensure that the United States never has to depend on hostile foreign nations to power our economy."

The American Energy Alliance evaluates lawmakers according to several principles, including promoting affordable, abundant, and reliable energy; expanding economic opportunity; protecting consumer energy choice; encouraging private-sector innovation; advancing market-oriented energy policies; reducing government intervention in energy markets; and opposing subsidies and mandates that increase energy costs.

Throughout his tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Biggs has supported legislation and policies aimed at expanding domestic energy production, reducing federal regulatory barriers, and increasing access to America's natural resources.

Among his energy and natural-resource efforts:

• SPEED Act: Biggs voted for H.R. 4776, the bipartisan Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development (SPEED) Act, which passed the House. The legislation reforms the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review process to help make federal permitting more efficient and timely, reducing litigation-related delays, and accelerating approval of energy, infrastructure, mining, and other major projects.
  
• Protecting Domestic Mining Act: Biggs voted for the Protecting Domestic Mining Act, when it passed the House in September 2026. The legislation addresses federal regulatory requirements affecting domestic mineral development and mining projects.
  
• Federal Land Freedom Act: Biggs introduced the Federal Land Freedom Act to give states greater authority over the development and production of energy resources on available federal lands within their borders. The proposal would reduce federal permitting barriers and give states a larger role in managing energy development.
  
• LIST Act: Biggs has introduced the Land Investment and State Transparency (LIST) Act, legislation dealing with federal land-management decisions and the federal government's acquisition and control of land.
  
• FUEL Reform Act: Biggs previously introduced the Farewell to Unnecessary Energy Lifelines (FUEL) Reform Act, targeting federal energy subsidies and seeking to reduce government intervention in energy markets.
  
• Opposing Federal Energy Restrictions: Biggs has consistently advocated rolling back federal regulations that impede domestic energy production, increase costs, and make the United States more dependent on foreign sources of energy.
