RICHMOND, Va., April 3, 2026 - Remission Medical today announced the appointment of Michael Spine as Chief Growth Officer. In this role, Spine will lead the company's growth strategy and strategic partnerships with health systems and specialty practices.
Access to rheumatology care remains one of the most persistent challenges in modern healthcare. Patients often wait months for evaluation, delaying diagnosis, treatment, and long-term outcomes for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Remission Medical was built to address this gap by partnering with health systems and specialty practices to expand access to high-quality rheumatology care. The company's model is designed to extend clinical capacity while preserving the integrity of care delivery, integrating directly into existing EHRs, workflows, and care teams so patients remain within the health system.
"As health systems look for more sustainable ways to expand specialty care, the ability to scale within existing clinical and operational environments is becoming increasingly important," said Blake Wehman, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Remission Medical. "Michael brings a unique combination of health system experience and growth leadership that will help us advance how specialty care capacity is built and sustained across our partner networks."
Spine brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience across healthcare innovation, population health, and regional health system development. He has a proven track record of aligning physicians, administrators, and governance teams around strategic growth initiatives, with a focus on implementing value-based care models and continuum-based payment systems that improve both clinical outcomes and financial performance.
Prior to joining Remission Medical, Spine served as President of inHealth Strategies and Invenio Genetics, where he led the growth of population health services and supported the development of precision medicine ventures. He also held senior leadership roles at KentuckyOne Health and Bon Secours Health System, where he drove business development across multi-billion dollar networks and supported large-scale electronic health record implementations.
"Health systems need solutions that expand access without adding complexity to how care is delivered," said Spine. "Remission Medical has built a model that fits within existing environments while helping systems strengthen and sustain specialty care capacity. I'm excited to join the team and help scale that impact."
As Chief Growth Officer, Spine will focus on advancing partnerships with health systems and specialty practices, supporting a more scalable and sustainable approach to specialty care delivery.
