TRAFFIC ALERT: Pavement Sealing Work Planned on Route E in Vernon & Cedar Counties April 16

When: 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Thursday, April 16

Where: Route E in Vernon and Cedar counties west of Missouri Route 97

What: MoDOT crews sealing Route E with a mixture of rock and oil

Traffic Impacts:

• Both lanes of Route E CLOSED in sections where crews are working
• Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances along Route E, but will not be able to drive through the work zone
• Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
• No signed detours, drivers urged to find alternate routes
• Check MoDOT's Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

A seal coat is not an alternative to an asphalt overlay, but is planned for this road as an economical way to maintain and preserve the roadway. The treatments keep a road from deteriorating and will extend its life.
