WASHINGTON, DC - This week, Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and Maryland Comptroller Brooke E. Lierman visited nonprofit organizations in Prince George's and Charles Counties to discuss each group's commitment to serving Southern Marylanders within their communities.
"Maryland's Fifth Congressional District is home to a multitude of nonprofit organizations that deliver critical resources and create opportunities for the region. From Westbrook Horse Farm to LifeStyles of Maryland, each advocate and organization we met with has an invaluable role in shaping the lives of Marylanders. I enjoyed seeing their work up close and discussing their contributions to our communities. I thank each organization for welcoming us, and I will continue to support their efforts during the remainder of my term in Congresss," said Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) .
"The three organizations we visited - all nonprofits but each doing work in its own way - play an essential role in strengthening our communities, supporting Marylanders in need, and creating opportunities for individuals to build better futures," said Comptroller Brooke E. Lierman . "I am grateful for the dedicated people behind these organizations and the difference they make across our state. From supporting young people to helping individuals find stable housing, to supporting economic development and job creation, the work of these organizations makes Maryland a better place for everyone."
