G7 Interior and Security Ministers’ Meeting

From 21-23 November, the Delegation of the European Union to Canada accompanied EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner during his mission to Ottawa for the #G7 Interior and Security Ministers' Meeting.

Throughout the ministerial discussions, Commissioner Brunner joined G7 partners to address some of the most pressing global safety and security challenges. Together, they reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthen international cooperation and to uphold the safety, security, and resilience of our democratic societies.

The Commissioner also held a bilateral meeting with Canada's Minister of Public Safety, Gary Anandasangaree, to exchange perspectives on common security priorities, including tackling transnational repression, combating the production and trafficking of synthetic drugs, and enhancing cyber security resilience.

In a complex global environment, the EU remains committed to working hand-in-hand with partners like Canada to protect our citizens and promote a safer, more secure, and more prosperous future.
