SCHNEIDER HOSTS COST-OF-LIVING ROUNDTABLE, RELEASES REPORT ABOUT THE COST-OF-LIVING CRISIS IMPACTING FAMILIES ACROSS ILLINOIS’ TENTH DISTRICT

LINCOLNSHIRE, IL - Today, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) hosted a cost-of-living roundtable in Highwood to hear directly from community leaders, small business owners, and service providers about how the increased cost of living has impacted them and their communities. Rep. Schneider released a report highlighting increased costs Illinois families are seeing for everything from utilities to groceries and health care.

"Every single American deserves a fair shot to get ahead, not just get by," said Schneider. "As I have traveled across the district this month, I've loved hearing from constituents about their aspirations for themselves, their families, and our communities. At the same time, many people have shared their concerns about our economy and the many obstacles they are facing just covering monthly expenses. One woman captured the sense I get from so many: 'we're fine right now…but it's really hard.' With the cost of everyday essentials rising, too many families feel like they are being left behind, or worse, left out. That's just not right. We must not allow the promise of the American Dream to slip away. I will continue working to lower costs and grant hardworking Americans the relief they need and deserve, so families in Illinois and nationwide have breathing room to save for their futures and thrive."
