NEW YORK, April 14, 2026 - Michael Fernández, a member of the firm's Commercial Litigation Department, has been elected to serve as secretary of the Latino Judges Association Foundation's board of directors. The Latino Judges Association Foundation (LJAF) comprises former judges, practicing lawyers, and academic professionals in the State of New York and in the federal courts within the Second Circuit of the United States. The mission of the LJAF is to expand opportunities for the LJA Judicial Summer Internship program, fund the creation of sponsorship programs, and establish a resource for community education and outreach programming.
Michael focuses on representing international and domestic clients in complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts, international arbitrations, and regulatory compliance matters. He is experienced in issues concerning complex jurisdictional issues and cross-border discovery matters. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, Michael has experience representing foreign and domestic companies and individuals in matters covering a broad range of industries, including cryptocurrency, commodities, construction and real estate, food and beverage, gaming, financial services, moving and storage, and oil and gas.
