Steering away from car dependency webinar hosted by Climate Action, Human Rights offices

Join author Anna Zivarts, author of "When Driving Is Not An Option: Steering Away from Car Dependency," for a complimentary webinar from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026, on Zoom.

The webinar is presented in collaboration with the City's Office of Human Rights and Climate Action and Outreach Office, as well as the American Planning Association Iowa Chapter.

"When Driving Is Not An Option" explores how creating a better transportation system with non-drivers in mind improves the quality of life for everyone.

Zivarts, a low-vision mom and disability advocate, will discuss her own experiences with navigating the world without a car, and how changes to our current transportation system could create healthier, climate-friendly communities for everyone.
