Governor Spanberger Announces 75 New Jobs by Veteran-Founded Data Solutions Firm in Fairfax County

RICHMOND, VA - Governor Abigail Spanberger today announced Data Machines - a veteran-founded firm offering customized data-driven solutions to government and civilian customers - will expand its operations at the company's Reston headquarters, creating 75 new jobs in Virginia. Through an $849,000 investment, Data Machines plans to establish a dedicated innovation and engineering office and expand its existing footprint to support national missions.

"Data Machines' decision to continue to invest in Virginia is a testament to our people, our talent, and our status as a top state for business," said Governor Abigail Spanberger. "As cybersecurity and national security become ever more related, companies like Data Machines are rising to the challenge to deliver innovation, and it's Virginians who are making that possible."

Governor Spanberger recently celebrated Virginia's rise to #3 in CNBC's "America's Top States for Business" rankings, reflecting a strong business climate that continues to attract high-caliber companies to the Commonwealth. Since taking office, Governor Spanberger has announced more than $5 billion in new business investment and more than 3,200 new jobs across the Commonwealth. Governor Spanberger also recently returned from her first international trade mission, where she met with global business leaders to strengthen Virginia's trade relationships and position the Commonwealth for future investment.

Founded in 2016, Data Machines offers data-driven and technology agnostic solutions to clients, specializing in artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, data analytics, cyber defense, software engineering, and modeling & simulation.

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority to secure the project for Virginia and will support Data Machines' job creation through the Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP), which provides consultative services and funding to companies creating new jobs to support employee recruitment and training activities. As a business incentive supporting economic development, VJIP reduces the human resource costs of new and expanding companies. VJIP is state funded, demonstrating Virginia's commitment to enhancing job opportunities for citizens.
