Finnish Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will visit Belgrade and Pristina on 15-16 September to strengthen the OSCE's partnership with the region.
During her visit, Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will meet high-level officials, members of the OSCE field operation personnel and representatives of civil society organisations. The Minister will also meet with beneficiaries of the Center for Youth Integration in Belgrade as well as representatives of the OSCE Dialogue Academy Network of Alumnae in Pristina.
"It is truly inspiring to see how the OSCE and its field operations drive positive change in the region. Field operations personnel engage in valuable regional cooperation in key areas such as youth engagement, media literacy, and journalism. Joint projects are essential for the whole region's development and for promoting peace and security," says Minister for Foreign Affairs Valtonen.
As OSCE Chair, Finland will strengthen the organisation's work in South-Eastern Europe on the basis of jointly agreed principles. In this role, Finland systematically calls attention to the Helsinki Final Act's principles, which have been in place since 1975. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Helsinki Final Act.
