Honoring Juneteenth

Honoring Juneteenth

June 17, 2026

As we observe Juneteenth today, we pause to recognize this important day in American history commemorating the end of slavery in the United States and celebrating Black freedom, resilience, and achievement. Juneteenth offers an opportunity to reflect on our nation's history and the ongoing work required to advance equity, justice, and opportunity for all. It also serves as a reminder of the critical role public health plays in addressing longstanding inequities and creating conditions in which every community can thrive.

At ASPPH, we remain committed to fostering inclusive excellence, advancing health equity, and preparing future public health leaders to address the complex challenges that affect communities across the country and around the world. We are grateful for the dedication of our members and partners who continue to champion these efforts through education, research, practice, and service.

Thank you for your continued commitment to building a healthier and more equitable future.
