Lawrence Sher, MD, Associate Medical Director and Principal Investigator at Headlands Peninsula Research Associates, collaborated on a recent publication examining the impact of type 2 inflammatory comorbidities, including asthma, allergic rhinitis, and food allergies, on treatment outcomes with dupilumab in young children with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (AD).
This post hoc analysis of results from the LIBERTY AD PRESCHOOL trial demonstrated that dupilumab improved signs and symptoms of AD in children aged 6 months to 5 years regardless of the presence of these comorbidities, reinforcing previous evidence that dupilumab is effective for AD in patients with concurrent type 2 inflammatory conditions. Dupilumab was also well tolerated, with an acceptable safety profile consistent with that established in previous studies.
