San Diego's second Home Electrification Fair will take place Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Norman Park Senior Center in Chula Vista. The free event invites county residents to learn how to reduce energy costs, improve air quality and lower environmental impact through home electrification.
The fair will introduce key concepts in home electrification and energy efficiency, including heat pump systems, induction cooktops, electric vehicle charging, ventless electric dryers and solar energy solutions. Attendees can connect with experts to learn about the health benefits and cost savings of electrification, as well as options for choosing 100 percent renewable electricity.
"The City of Chula Vista is partnering with Citizens Climate Lobby to endorse this year's Home Electrification Fair," said Cory Downs, sustainability specialist for the City of Chula Vista. "The event helps educate residents on how to cut energy costs and promote a healthier community for all."
Representatives from equipment suppliers, contractors, utilities, incentive programs and local governments will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on planning, financing and implementing home electrification projects, including how to access rebates. Residents who have already electrified their homes will also share firsthand experiences and practical insights.
An expert from the Home Energy Academy will host a seminar from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., offering additional guidance on electrification strategies.
The event will also feature family-friendly activities and a prize drawing.
The Norman Park Senior Center is located at 270 F St. Free and metered parking is available on surrounding streets, as well as at the Chula Vista Civic Center Library and along Third Avenue.
