Harshbarger Office Makes Book Delivery to Sullivan County Schools

Blountville, TN - In recognition of National Book Month, Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger's (R-TN) office this week delivered book donations from the U.S. Library of Congress Surplus Books Program to Holston Elementary School and Sullivan East Middle School.

"Fostering a love for reading among our youth in East Tennessee is a cause near and dear to my heart because it opens the door to a lifetime of learning and success," said Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger. "I'm proud my office could play a small role in filling the shelves at Holston Elementary School and Sullivan East Middle School. I'm grateful to both schools for their communication with my staff and their commitment to their students, and to the dedicated Library of Congress staff who work behind the scenes to make these donations possible for schools across our region."

National Book Month is observed during the month of October, which focuses on the importance of promoting an interest in and highlighting the importance of literacy, storytelling, and a love for reading and writing. The Office of Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger has delivered thousands of books throughout East Tennessee, fulfilling requests from libraries, schools, non-profits, and qualifying early childhood and senior centers.
