SR 1/US 27/Hamilton Road Widening From Auburn Avenue to SR 219/Morgan Street

WHAT: There will be a utility relocation associated with the Hamilton Road Widening; a contractor encountered at SR 1/US 27 at the intersection with SR 219. The work will require the closure of the SR 1/US 27 and SR 14/US 29 intersection throughout the duration of this work. The detour for this work will direct traffic to SR 109, then to I-85 (Exit 18), to SR 1 (Exit 14), and finally to SR 219 (Exit 13), with detour signs placed throughout the route to assist motorists-local traffic only throughout the closed portion of the closure. The Department is working with several contractors to get the work accomplished with minimal impact on the traveling public. Drivers are encouraged to drive alertly through the area and reduce their speeds.
