Delayed Death of Pedestrian Following August 6th Crash

A man has died after he was involved in a crash on August 6, 2026, in the area of Southeast Division Street and Southeast 101st Avenue.

On Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 12:26 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a report of a crash at Southeast Division Street and Southeast 101st Avenue involving a pedestrian. When they arrived with emergency medical services, they found a male with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to the hospital. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, a Portland Police Major Crash Team supervisor was notified by the Medical Examiner that the male had died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The pedestrian is identified as Asare L. Kofi, 47.
