Brandon Gregory, 40, of Roxbury was placed under arrest by Cambridge Police in Central Sq. on charges related to the unlawful possession of a firearm and suspected crack cocaine.
On Monday, January 12th at approximately 9:30am officers responded to a Central Sq. business on a report that several people were in the basement smoking marijuana and refusing to leave. Upon arrival officers located two individuals in the basement, later identified as Miriam Piquant, 34, of Mattapan and Gregory.
After interacting with both it was determined that Piquant had an active warrant out of Boston, she was placed under arrest without incident. Meanwhile, Gregory provided officers with multiple false names and was unable to provide an explanation as to why he was in the building. This prompted officers to detain him, during which he actively resisted and attempted to flee. During the struggle Gregory drew a firearm with an extended magazine that was briefly pointed at a CPD Officer.
Once officers gained control of Gregory he was placed under arrest, it was soon discovered he was also in possession of a bag containing a white, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine. Gregory does not possess a License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification Card (FID), making it illegal for him to possess the firearm and ammunition. In addition to the charges related to this incident, Gregory was found to have multiple active warrants for his arrest from courts in Boston, Cambridge, Dedham, and Ontario County, NY.
