BOSTON, MA [Sept. 15, 2026] - Boston Children's Hospital has been named by U.S. News & World Report to its 2026-27 Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 11 children's hospitals in the United States.
"Being recognized among the nation's best children's hospitals is a reflection of the extraordinary expertise, dedication, and collaboration of our teams, as well as the trust families place in us every day," says Kevin B. Churchwell, MD, CEO. "These rankings represent more than numbers - they reflect the children and families who turn to Boston Children's for answers, and the collective commitment of our clinicians, researchers, and staff to deliver the very best care and advance what's possible for children."
Boston Children's ranked number one in the following specialties: Neonatology, Pediatric Cancer, Pediatric Gastroenterology & GI Surgery, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Neurology & Neurosurgery, Pediatric Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, and Pediatric Urology; number three in Pediatric Orthopedics; number four in Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology; and number eight in Pediatric Cardiology and Heart Surgery.
The rankings assist parents, in consultation with their children's doctors, in finding exceptional pediatric care - whether for serious illness, a high-stakes surgery or complex medical needs.
For the 2026-27 rankings, U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research firm, collected and analyzed data from 114 children's hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children's hospitals awarded a "Best" designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, compliance with established best practices, and level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care.
