BANK ACTIVITY

Branch Activity

On May 26, 2026, Newtown Savings Bank, a Connecticut-chartered bank, filed an application pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes § 36a-145(c)(1) to establish a new limited branch at 55 East Main Street Suite 2000, Bridgeport, CT 06608. The anticipated opening date is second quarter 2026. Questions or comments regarding the application can be sent to the Financial Institutions Division at 860-240-8114.

CONSUMER CREDIT ACTIVITY

FuturePay Holdings Inc. d/b/a FuturePay

On May 21, 2026, the Commissioner entered into a Consent Order ("Consent Order") with FuturePay Holdings Inc. d/b/a FuturePay (NMLS # 2366387), ("FuturePay"), New York, New York. The Consent Order resolved allegations made by the Commissioner in a Notice of Intent to Revoke and Refuse to Renew Small Loan License and Notice of Right to Hearing (collectively, "Notice") issued on September 25, 2025. The Notice was based on an investigation by the Consumer Credit Division which stemmed from the renewal application filed by FuturePay. The Commissioner alleged in the Notice that FuturePay failed to submit the audited financial statements for fiscal years ending December 31, 2023, and December 31, 2024, to meet the minimum requirements for retention of its small loan license pursuant to Section 36a-563 of the Connecticut General Statutes, which rendered the Commissioner unable to determine the financial responsibility of FuturePay and constituted sufficient grounds for the Commissioner to deny an application for such license under Section 36a-563(a) of the Connecticut General Statutes, and in turn would be sufficient grounds for the Commissioner to revoke and refuse to renew Respondent's small loan license in Connecticut pursuant to Section 36a-570(a) and subsections (a) and (b) of Section 36a-51 of the Connecticut General Statutes, as amended by Public Act 25-115. As part of the Consent Order, FuturePay surrendered its small loan license in Connecticut.
