WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced that Hardwire, LLC, an advanced manufacturing company based in Worcester County, has been awarded a $99,000,000 defense contract for work at the company's Pocomoke City facility in Maryland's First District.
Statement from Congressman Harris:
"Hardwire continues to create skilled manufacturing jobs and expand defense production in Maryland's First District. The company will produce steel and titanium components for armored military vehicles supporting our men and women in uniform. As a veteran and senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, I will continue working to secure defense investments for the First District and create more good-paying jobs for the Eastern Shore."
Statement from George Tunis, Owner of Hardwire:
"Congressman Harris, Worcester Co., and the City of Pocomoke have been longstanding partners of Hardwire. Together, we have now brought large-scale, state-of-the-art hot forming of advanced metals to the Eastern Shore. This capability allows for huge, complex-shaped parts to be made from the strongest metals on planet Earth and opens the door to all-new, more organically shaped components and armor for our ground, sea, air, and space forces."
