September 23, 2026 - Get ready to see a library on wheels driving around the Quad Cities!

On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 5 p.m., a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be held to reveal the Bettendorf Public Library's new outreach vehicle, called BettConnect. The event will take place at Faye's Field, across the street from the Bettendorf Public Library (2950 Learning Campus Drive).

"The arrival of the BettConnect is an exciting opportunity to take the Bettendorf Public Library beyond our walls and bring the library to even more members of our community, regardless of transportation or mobility challenges," said Library Director Jillian Aschliman. "We look forward to connecting more residents with library resources and programs and creating new opportunities for learning and discovery!"

BettConnect will travel throughout the area, offering free Wi-Fi and pop-up events and services, including library card registration and materials checkout. Community organizations can even request a visit from BettConnect. For more information, visit the library's website.

This initiative came to life through the generosity of several donors, including, but not limited to:

• Scott County Regional Authority
• Regional Development Authority
• Arconic Foundation
• Bechtel Trusts
• Contributions from library users

The Bettendorf Public Library Foundation raised the funds for this outreach vehicle, which expands on the library's mission to provide access to information and ideas for all.
