Lima Education Association Honoring Read Across America Day
In honor of National Read Across America Day, the Lima Education Association (LEA) will be delivering Dr. Seuss books to the Lima Memorial Family Birth Center and Pediatric Unit on Thursday, March 2. Read Across America Day is a day to not only celebrate the fun and value of reading but also Dr. Seuss's birthday.
There are many benefits of reading aloud to your baby and children. Reading sets the stage for school readiness and stimulates language & cognitive thinking skills and enhances memory. Reading books aloud can also help build a child's vocabulary and overall helps children bond with their parents.
Teachers Miriam Downing and Tammie Deitsch from Heritage Elementary will be making the donation on behalf of the Lima Education Association.
