CONCORD, NH - Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte released the following statement marking her first year in office:
"When I was sworn in one year ago today, I promised we would deliver an even brighter future for all of New Hampshire, and we've kept that promise. Our state remains the envy of the nation - #1 for public safety, health care, child wellbeing, economic freedom, taxpayer return on investment, home internet connectivity, and the lowest tax burden in the nation.
"We delivered on key promises made to Granite Staters: from fixing our broken bail system, to new laws to speed up housing construction, to a responsible, balanced budget that protects services for our most vulnerable. We've made significant strides over the last year, but we're not done yet.
"I know this is a challenging time for many families across our state. There's more work to do to expand our housing supply, electricity bills are far too high, and Granite Staters need more options for affordable childcare and to be able to access high-quality health care closer to home. Working together, we will tackle these challenges and make sure New Hampshire remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family."
