WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Seth Moulton (MA-06) released the following statement regarding his vote to extend the ACA tax credits by three years through the successful discharge petition vote led by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, to force a vote on the legislation.
"After House Republicans, led by Mike Johnson, refused to act to help the American people by lowering healthcare costs and keeping healthcare accessible for millions of people, Democrats took matters into our own hands this week, with a discharge petition to force a vote on this legislation that will extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits and lower costs for the American people," said Congressman Moulton. "This is exactly what governing should look like, putting people over politics and delivering real relief for families who are feeling the squeeze of rising healthcare costs.
"Extending these ACA tax credits will provide greater stability and certainty for millions of working families, seniors, and small business owners. At a time when Americans are demanding action to make healthcare more affordable, this vote is about doing the right thing, right now. I'm proud to stand with my Democratic colleagues to get it done. The ball is now in the Senate's court."
