Closures on State Routes 99, 132, and Interstate 5

Stanislaus County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct various lane and ramp closures next week on State Route 99 (SR-99), State Route 132 (SR-132), and Interstate 5 (I-5). Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 99

  • Moving, alternating lane closures between the Merced County line and the San Joaquin County line for pavement marker replacement beginning Monday, November 3, through Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
  • Overnight closures of the #2 (center) and #3 (right) lanes of northbound SR-99 from Woodland Avenue to L Street in Modesto for bridge work beginning Sunday, November 2, through Friday, November 7, 2025, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full closure of the northbound Kansas Avenue onramp in Modesto for bridge work beginning Sunday, November 2, through Friday, November 7, 2025, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
  • Long-term, full closure of the Enoch Christoffersen Rest Areas in Turlock for maintenance work. A reopening date is currently unknown.

State Route 132

  • One-way traffic control between the San Joaquin River and the Old Fisherman's Club for pavement work on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
  • Overnight, one-way traffic control between Reinway Avenue and Eucalyptus Avenue in Waterford for pavement work beginning Monday, November 3, through Friday, November 7, 2025, from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.

Interstate 5

  • Long-term, full closures of the northbound and southbound Westley Safety Roadside Rest Areas and the auxiliary lane leading to the southbound rest area exit for construction work.
    Note: This project is expected to continue through the spring of 2026.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
