Superstar eyes off Gawn, all-time AFLW record as flag contenders dominate All-Australian squad

Geelong's plethora of stars have been rewarded more than any other club in the 2026 AFLW All-Australian squad, as North Melbourne superstar Jasmine Garner chases a record ninth honorary blazer.

The 32-year-old is well-placed to topple the current record of eight selections held by teammate Emma Kearney, having averaged a career-high 31.1 disposals this year. Demons superstar Max Gawn is the only male player to have achieved the feat.

At the Cats, all of Georgie Prespakis, Chloe Scheer, Aishling Moloney, Nina Morrison, Rebecca Webster and Jackie Parry were named, with Garner spearheading the five Kangaroos recognised in the squad.

Gold Coast's star quintet of Charlie Rowbottom, Niamh McLaughlin, Daisy D'Arcy, Havana Harris and Ava Usher were all picked, with the latter three eyeing off a debut All-Aus accolade.

And after their dominance in the AFL Players' Association 22Under22 squad announced earlier on Thursday afternoon, Melbourne's Olivia Purcell, Tyla Hanks, Tahlia Gillard, Maeve Chaplin and Jordyn S. Allen were named.

Nearly half of the squad - 20 players - are in contention for their first All-Australian blazer, three of whom are Usher, Allen and Olivia Wolmarans (Richmond) in their first year at the top level.

The 2026 All-Australian selection panel comprises of Andrew Dillon (Chair), Laura Kane, Gemma Bastiani, Kirby Bentley, Debbie Lee, Kate McCarthy, Meghan McDonald, Eliza Reilly and Michael Whiting.

The 42-player squad will be cut in half to 21 at the W Awards on November 23.
