EUAM RCA assesses detention conditions at Bimbo Women’s Correctional Centre to strengthen rights-based practices

EUAM RCA advisers on interoperability, human rights and gender conducted a joint assessment visit to the Women's Correctional Centre of Bimbo, reinforcing the Mission's support to the penitentiary sector.

The assessment identified priority actions to improve detention conditions and safeguards for women detainees, including stronger coordination with judicial actors and enhanced management practices, in line with human rights standards.

Through its integrated advisory approach, EUAM RCA supports the Central African authorities in strengthening coordination, accountability and effectiveness within the penitentiary system, including in facilities dedicated to women.
